How long to feed puppy food

Large-breed puppy formula until a veterinarian agrees adult food is due, often around 12–15 months.

Lean athlete

A Boxer should look tucked up, not stout. Extra weight is easy to miss under a slick coat. That is closer to the Shepherd tree than to Bulldog calorie-for-airway.

Meal pattern

Two or more measured meals. Boxers are deep-chested; one enormous daily meal is a poor default. Food does not replace veterinary care if the dog is retching without producing food.

Adult food

Complete large-breed adult food matched to real activity, not to the 'high energy' reputation alone.

Fresh or subscription food

Only if complete, balanced, and life-stage correct.

Vitamins

Routine supplementation generally isn't recommended when feeding a complete and balanced large-breed diet. Additional vitamins or minerals should be discussed with a veterinarian.
